# PayPal's Store Sync App for BigCommerce

Use this guide to install PayPal's Store Sync App in BigCommerce and connect your product catalog to AI shopping surfaces.

PayPal's Store Sync App syncs your product catalog with PayPal's agentic commerce platform, making your products discoverable and purchasable through AI assistants such as Microsoft Copilot, Perplexity, and PayPal Assistant. After you install the app, PayPal automatically syncs your catalog across AI surfaces.

## Prerequisites

Before you install the app, make sure you have the following:

* Active BigCommerce store with admin access
* PayPal Business account
* Available in the United States only

  If you do not yet have a PayPal business account, create one at
  [www.paypal.com/business](http://www.paypal.com/business). If you already have an account, it links automatically when you install the app.

## Step-by-step guide

1. Log in to your BigCommerce Control Panel and go to **Apps** > **App Marketplace**.
2. Search for `PayPal's Store Sync` and select the app to view the detail page.
3. Review the app information, then select **Install**.
4. Review the requested permissions, then select **Confirm**. By confirming, you consent to your product catalog being shared through PayPal's Store Sync platform with Microsoft Copilot, Perplexity, and PayPal Assistant. Additional platforms may be added in future updates.
5. Once installation completes, PayPal begins processing your catalog. Your products are live on eligible AI surfaces within 24 to 48 hours. No further action is required. PayPal handles syncing and distribution automatically.
6. Verify that the Store Sync dashboard shows the **Activated** status, confirming that your store is connected to AI platforms. If setup is incomplete, a message appears indicating that your PayPal Business account must be linked before activation can proceed.

## Test your integration

Confirm the installation completed successfully as follows:

1. In your BigCommerce Control Panel, go to **Apps** > **My Apps**.
2. Select **Store Sync** from the list.
3. The app home screen displays the activation status and where your products can appear across supported AI shopping surfaces.

| Status                 | Description                                       |
| ---------------------- | ------------------------------------------------- |
| **Activated**          | Your catalog is live and syncing to AI surfaces.  |
| **Set up in Progress** | Catalog is being processed. Allow up to 48 hours. |

## Uninstalling the app

To remove Store Sync from your BigCommerce store:

1. Go to **Apps** > **My Apps** in your BigCommerce Control Panel.
2. Locate **Store Sync** and select **Uninstall**.
3. Review the confirmation modal to understand what uninstalling means for your catalog visibility on AI surfaces.
4. Confirm the uninstallation.

## Common issues

**Installation failed**

* Verify that your PayPal Business account is active. You can also connect your account to the [PayPal Checkout App](https://www.bigcommerce.com/apps/paypal-checkout/) to ensure we can match your account. If the issue persists, uninstall and reinstall the app.

**Catalog activation is taking longer than expected**

* After installation, your catalog can take up to 48 hours to go live on eligible AI surfaces. No action is required during this time.

**Not sure which AI surfaces your products appear on**

* At launch, your products are eligible to appear on Microsoft Copilot, Perplexity, and PayPal Assistant. Additional surfaces may be added in future updates.

**Unsure whether you need to do anything after installing**

* PayPal handles catalog synchronization automatically on a daily basis. You can monitor your status from the app home screen in your BigCommerce Control Panel. Some AI platforms may require additional time to complete the initial setup.
